It's mostly the C8 generation Chevy Corvette that grabs the spotlight whenever it comes to this nameplate, and it has been like that even before it entered production well over three years ago.
So far, the bowtie brand has given us three derivatives, including the Stingray, the more track-focused Z06, and the electrified E-Ray with its all-wheel drive powertrain. A fourth one is in the making, and it appears to add the ZR1 suffix, boasting even more power.

But as hot as the GM-owned brand's blue-collar supercar may be, some of its predecessors are always worth a look, especially since they cost less than one of the cheapest new cars currently on sale in America. Have we gotten your attention? Good, then we should proceed to talk about this C3 'Vette, which is certainly worth a look.

A 1979 model, it comes with timeless looks, including the typical tires with white branding on them. The vendor says it has a light blue exterior paint finish, though it looks white to us. The interior mixes dark blue with a few black touches. And for what it's worth, it appears to be an all-original car, meaning that it doesn't feature any modern amenities.

More importantly, it does not seem to have undergone restoration, so this would be a good project car to bring back to life over the course of a few years. Under the hood, it packs the 350 ci V8. Offered in multiple configurations in the C3, which was made from 1967 to 1982, and the listing does not reveal how much power it has. In this case, it is hooked up to an automatic transmission, though the C3 was also available in the three-pedal configuration, with three and four gears.

Some of the highlights mentioned in the ad are the Goodyear tires and the new brake calipers and rotors. The vendor says this classic 'Vette has around 60,000 miles (96,500 km) under its belt, adding that pre-purchase inspections are welcomed. Nonetheless, you will have to make an appointment if you plan to check it out in the flesh.

Now, we already told you that this Corvette is more affordable than a brand-new Nissan Versa, which starts at $16,130 excluding destination and dealer markups, but we haven't mentioned the pricing. So, how much do you think it is? Try $14,900, according to Garage Kept Motors. That's certainly not bad at all for a classic ride with good looks and a V8 engine under the hood that still seems to have plenty of life left in it.

So, would you dare to buy it and spend numerous days in the garage to bring it back to its original shine, or would you save up more and get a restored example instead?
