Actually, make that 'classic street terror,' as its performance is far from being mind-boggling by today's standards, yet it was very impressive back in the day.
This 1969 Ford Torino Cobra features the infamous 428 ci lump under the hood. The 7.0-liter V8 produces 335 horsepower, channeled to the wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The output was believed to have been underrated back in the day, but even if it wasn't, the number was certainly something to write home about.

Believed to be one of only 705 copies to have received this motor straight from the factory, this classic muscle car is the automotive equivalent of a unicorn. No one really knows how many of them have withstood the test of time, which makes it a great addition to any garage, especially if its GM and Mopar rivals surround it.

You can instantly tell that a 55-year-old car cannot look this good without a lot of TLC. As it happens, this '69 Torino Cobra underwent complete restoration at one point, and it is said to be the factory-correct one. It has a Candy Apple Red paint finish with a black vinyl roof, features the correct bumpers, hood, and chrome trim, and rides on red wheels wrapped in Firestone tires with white branding.

The cockpit is just as spectacular as the exterior, as this old-timer has new upholstery, carpets, door cards, and so on. It also features a few classic gauges, a simple gear shifter, and a two-spoke steering wheel, and lacks the modern safety amenities. The vendor says the stopping power comes from the power-assisted brakes with discs up front and drums at the rear, adding that this machine "drives like it did when it came off the showroom floor."

Mind you, there is a drawback, as the mileage cannot be proved to be real. Nevertheless, we reckon it probably is, as it does not seem to have covered more than 15,670 miles (25,218 km), which is what the odometer reads, since the restoration was completed. But even if it's not real, do you really care? After all, this ride is worthy of sitting under the spotlight at multiple car shows, and you won't have to do anything to it, as it is very clean no matter where you look.

Now, we hinted at the asking price in the title. However, we haven't told you how much you will have to cough out for it, and that would be $57,900. That's about as much as a nicely equipped 2024 Ford Mustang and less than the range-topping Dark Horse, which carries a $59,485 MSRP. We don't know about you, but this Torino is far more appealing than the Blue Oval's modern-day muscle car, and we think it's worth every penny. Do you?
