But how can we start fighting this war for a better, cleaner future if EVs made by Tesla Motors’ remain a premium product? “Buy a pre-owned Tesla Model S or just wait for the Tesla Model 3 to hit the market,” the company’s CEO would answer if this were an actual dialogue.
But it’s not a dialogue. We’ll do one eventually, but until then, let us continue our little exercise here.

Buying a new car online that works solely with electricity? Yes, please. But what about the conditions? Well, last time we looked on their website, we learnt that every pre-owned Model S receives a full inspection. New EV owners will also get the remaining battery and drive warranty, and a four year, 50,000-mile (80,467 km) limited warranty with 24-hour roadside assistance.
And the expenses? The lowest sticker was a 2012 Model S 60 Tech Package with only 26,000 miles (41,843 km) on the odometer. One of these would cost you $53,000. Still not city-car cheap, but affordable.
Call it coincidence or not, our journeys around the world wide internet led us back to a place we like to visit quite often called T Sportline. It’s one of the high-end Tesla Model S customization shops in US. Apparently, they also sell pre-owned Tesla Model S EVs. That’s how we stumbled upon not one, but two Tesla Model S P85D that are currently looking for a new eco owner.
The Pearl White EV received the company’s standard, carbon fiber exterior sports package (replacement front apron, rear diffuser, center diffuser, trunk wing) and 21’’ forged wheels. They also installed a lowering hardware kit, that apparently improves handling and stance.
The Solid Black e-sportscar has received over $66,000 in upgrades thus turning into one of the most expensive cars T Sportline has customized. Forged 21’’ wheels in limited edition Ghost Gold with Pirelli P Zero Nero tires were added. A similar sports package, tinted windows, and bespoke upholstery were also supplemented.
While the first model is priced at $155,000, the Solid Black EV will set you back at $179,000. The vehicles almost have new car mileage and seem like they have cheapened only a couple of grand so far.
