Tesla Motors stealthily launched a pre-owned Model S sales service on their website, a decision that will no doubt cause some stir and interest among those who want to buy a Model S.
Since Elon Musk is rather active on Twitter, especially in terms of announcements concerning what is Tesla Motors up to, a pre-owned section added on the company's website seems worthy of some promotion.

Well, that didn't happen so we're thinking Elon Musk is taking the 'less is more' approach this time. So, ladies and gents, without marketing punchlines and PR enthusiastic releases, Tesla Motors introduced the official Certified Per-Owned service on their website.

In essence, it allows you to surf, select and get more info on every CPO Model S in the United States. Furthermore, you can select a specific location from the filter section, so if you live in the San Francisco Bay area or Los Angeles, that's where you want to search first for a pre-owned Tesla Model S. The network covers 11 cities for now, but that's likely to expand in the near future.

In case you're looking for a bargain, here's our tip: the car with the lowest sticker is a 2012 Model S 60 Tech Package with only 26,000 miles (41,843 km) on the odometer. The price tag is set at $53,000, which means the car is roughly $20,000 cheaper than a brand-new one.

The website doesn't say anything about the condition of each vehicle, but it specifies that every Pre-Owned Model S receives a full inspection, remaining battery and drive warranty and a four year, 50,000 mile (80,467 km) limited warranty with 24 hour roadside assistance.
