Motovlogging or recording your rides in case something wrong happens, you can’t do it without a purposely designed camera. Thankfully, the market for these devices exploded lately, and there’s one for any budget. The newest one on the block is the DOD Hummer and is said to have been specially designed for logging your ride.
Based in Taiwan and recently extended to the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, DOD Tech specializes in full HD dashcam technology. Along with the rearview-mirror integrated dashcams, their offer now extended for bikers too with the introduction of the DOD Hammer (availability depends on market at the moment of writing).

As the name suggests, the HD action camera does indeed look like a hammer head and has been specially conceived to blend in with most motorcycles style. The camera can be easily mounted on the handlebars, tubular frame component or stuck to the fairing.

Unlike other action cameras on the market, the Hummer is built with an IPX6 rated waterproof body so it doesn’t need any protective case. With a 14 Megapixel resolution, it can record in full HD 1080p for up to 2 hours, thanks to its 750 mAh Lithium-Ion battery. You can also wire it to the motorcycle battery for continuous recording.

It comes with an incorporated 1.5-inch LCD screen to change settings and playback recordings. But it is also Wi-Fi ready so you can pair your smartphone with it and have greater control.

Other features include image stabilization, 5X GPS speed for fast and accurate GPS coordinates and logging, WDR technology for improved night vision, G-Sensor that triggers a file protection in case of an accident, loop recording, and auto power-up when you start your motorcycle or scooter.

Prices for the US are not available at the moment, but we expect it to be offered for around $400-$500, which is comparable to the most known model on the market - the GoPro HERO4.
