Italian aftermarket exhaust manufacturer MIVV has expanded its lineup recently, adding new slip-on cans for the 2016 BMW R1200R and Suzuki SV650. They provide both sound enhancement and a bit better performance.
Older bikes might sound cool by default, with their almost no-restricted exhausts singing that sweet song of combustion. But the strict regulation of the modern age made sure we get deprived of this extra joy a motorcycle had to offer.

Thankfully, there are a lot of aftermarket exhaust manufacturers out there to provide sound-derestricting devices that completely modify how a bike sounds. MIVV is one of them, and its new mufflers are said to be better both in sound and performance output.

The Suzuki SV650 gets a new MIVV Oval Carbon Cap slip-on. It weighs 2.2 kilos less than the stock piece and is said to increase the power by 1 hp and around 1 Nm of torque. Doesn’t sound much, but hey, it’s an extra, not a minus.

Moving on to the BMW R1200R, you can choose from two new exhausts, both coming in either homologated and open configurations. The MIVV Speed Edge Homologated is 2.1 kilos less than the stock and provides an increase of maximum 10 horsepower and as many Nm of torque. And the good thing is that you get them lower in the rev range.

The Speed Edge Open version is even better (where the law permits), with the derestricted setup adding 15.3 hp and 20.2 Nm of twist to the original output. As with the homologated unit, the extra oomph comes in the lower rev range.

Completing the list is the MIVV Oval Carbon Cap Homologated and the Carbo Cap Open, providing some extra 12 hp/19.4 Nm and 10 hp/11.8 Nm accordingly.

All pipes have been developed to work without ECU fuel adjustment and are available to order at select dealers around the globe.
