It’s perfectly fine to live full-time, year-round in a tiny house, and the impressive designs and builds covered on autoevolution prove it. Still, an important part of the tiny living movement that spread so rapidly across the globe was maximizing freedom of movement and making housing as flexible as possible. This is where ultra-compact and practical tiny homes like the Sunset Studio come in.
One of the multiple facets of tiny home living has to do with flexible purposes. A well-built and well-equipped house on wheels can become a permanent residence, a vacation home, a vacation rental, a companion for the road, and anything in between. The most compact tiny house versions turn minimalism into an art form, and they redefine contemporary housing. The best part is that you don't have to choose. A tiny house can start out as a temporary residence and eventually turn into a weekender home, or the other way around. There are no fixed rules and no restrictions that can't be navigated.

In the end, a tiny house is one of the most versatile and useful homes you could ever own, especially if it's lightweight and has a smaller footprint. Today's homes on wheels manage to squeeze all the features and amenities required for basic comfort, even with tight space limitations. That is why you shouldn't be fooled by the Sunset Studio's apparent simplicity. It's not a glorified hut, it's the contemporary version of a mobile home meant for the road and for a nomadic lifestyle.

At 20 feet (6 meters), the Sunset Studio is truly tiny. This means no chef's kitchen, no separate loft or main-floor bedroom, and no abundant storage. Still, it's wide enough (12 feet/3.6 meters) to make up for its limited length and present a smart layout. Smart means highly functional in this case. Although minimalistic to the core, the Sunset Studio doesn't lack any of the basic amenities for temporary living or comfortable living during travel.

The interior reveals pine barn siding throughout, in contrast only to the darker flooring. This natural, raw quality of the abundant woodwork gives Sunset Studio the rustic charm of a classic cabin in the woods. It also makes it surprisingly luminous and airy without any other additions. Despite its size, this mobile studio doesn't feel dark and cramped at all.

The beautiful name was inspired by this home's number one feature, the generous built-in porch. Who doesn't love a great porch? It becomes ten times more precious in the case of a small dwelling with wheels. The traditional look of this covered porch seems to transform this tiny into a cozy, welcoming home instantly. It's the perfect place to enjoy the view in the evening (hence the home's name) or to connect with the outdoors early in the morning with a fresh coffee.

The Sunset Studio may not be one of those ultra-modern abodes with huge glass doors and seamless indoor/outdoor living spaces, but it creates a similar type of flow in the old-fashioned way. At the same time, having a built-in porch like this would make anyone feel at home, no matter if this were just a rental or a holiday travel house.

Once you step through the door, you'll be greeted by what the builder calls "the Great Room." It's the most spacious part of the studio and the most versatile one. It can be a generous lounge during the day and a cozy bedroom at night. It can accommodate a compact dining setup, or it can become a practical home office. It all depends on the ultimate destination of the Sunset Studio and how its owners choose to customize it. Large windows on each side keep the area flooded with natural light, also ensuring the lovely views you'd want in a lounge/relaxation room.

This versatile Great Room leads to the tiny kitchenette and the separate bathroom. It may be tiny, but this lovely kitchenette is well-equipped. Ample storage is provided by custom cabinets under the countertop and overhead cupboards that include a dedicated compartment for a microwave. Underneath, another special compartment was designed to fit a mini fridge. In addition to the sink, the solid countertop provides the basic space for cooking and can double as a small breakfast bar. A small window helps bring in fresh air.

The bathroom is also equipped with modern appliances, including a corner shower cabin, a conventional toilet, and a slim vanity. A mini-split cooling and heating system keeps the right temperature at all times.

All in all, the Sunset Studio offers 192 square feet (17.8 square meters) of floor space and the basic amenities for comfortable living. With its versatile configuration and cozy additions (the porch in particular), it becomes an ideal getaway for two or a money-making vacation rental that could make the most of a beautiful, natural location.

Last but not least, simplicity also means greater affordability. The lovely Sunset Studio is available for a base price of just under $50,000 and can be delivered across the US.
