In September 2022, a British hacker attacked Revolut, Uber, and Rockstar Games and became famous or infamous worldwide, depending on how you see things. Even the FBI got involved. At the time, it turned out that it was a 17-year-old kid that was thought to be part of a larger organization called "Lapsus$." After all this time, we have some more details from the case, and according to the most recent info, he could go scot-free.
In one of the biggest, if not the biggest, leak scandals in gaming history, "teapotuberhacker," or Arion Kurtaj, now 18 years old, obtained over 100 videos of Grand Theft Auto VI in full development.

According to the prosecutors, he even threatened to give out the game's source code, meaning that upon the game's release, anyone could do anything with the game, rendering Rockstar's 10-year project useless.

Fortunately, it didn't ruin the developers' work. The company came out with a public statement shortly after everything happened and said: "Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned, and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations."

The most disappointing part for Rockstar was that fans of the franchise got to see the game in a very rough shape, given that the footage was in-engine, with stats, numbers, and all sorts of technical mumbo-jumbo devs use when developing a game.

New information has recently been made public regarding the case. It appears 18-year-old Arion Kurtaj is on trial alongside another 17-year-old who remains nameless.

This person apparently blackmailed Britain's BT Group, an internet provider, and EE, a mobile operator, and demanded a $4 million ransom. The prosecution says they're both "key players" from Lapsus$.

The twist is that psychiatrists assessed Arion Kurtaj and deemed him unfit for trial. Now, the jury will no longer give out a guilty/not guilty verdict, but they will instead decide if Arion can even commit the acts from the accusations in the first place.

The 12 charges he faces include three counts of blackmail, two counts of fraud, and six charges related to the Computer Misuse Act.

Since Rockstar eradicated almost every video evidence from the Internet through various 3rd party copyright companies, nothing else appeared in this sense.

According to leaks, insider information, and things of this "hush-hush" sort, Grand Theft Auto VI is slated for release in 2024 or 2025, depending on more factors than one can count.

The real question that recently started to boggle fans is, "Will GTA VI come out on consoles only in 30 fps like in the past, or will it also be on PC targeting 60 fps or, even better, with an unlocked framerate?"

Until official information surfaces, there's nothing much we can do besides waiting and hoping it will come out in 60 fps on consoles and PC on day 1.
