Now in its fourth model year since the revival of the Ford Bronco nameplate via the sixth generation, Blue Oval's Jeep Wrangler and Toyota 4Runner-rivaling SUV is doing great across the US automotive market.
There's a combination of high demand and global supply chain constraints that forced the Ford Motor Company to kill off the entry-level Bronco Base trim, and now the access into the lineup starts at the higher $39,130 price point of the 2-Door Bronco Big Bend. The 4-Door costs $39,870, and then you have enough options – Black Diamond, Heritage Edition, Outer Banks, Badlands, Everglades, Wildtrak, and Heritage Limited Edition (a 4-Door is over $71k) to choose a favorite.

As such, with two- and four-door models, a couple of special editions, and many trims, you would think that everyone is happy. Even the powertrain choice is not bad at all – the 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four turbo can be equipped with a seven-speed manual gearbox instead of the 10R60 ten-speed auto, and there are also two EcoBoost V6 options. In terms of flagships, if the 300 and 330-hp EcoBoosts are not enough, the $89,835 Bronco Raptor has at least 400 hp – even 418 hp in Baja mode!

However, danger is looming on the horizon. Stellantis has finally updated its legendary Jeep Wrangler for the 2024 model year, and that one starts at 'just' a little over $32k. Additionally, while the Toyota 4Runner feels like it's older than Earth itself, it's still a competitor to be reckoned with – especially if the rumors pan out and the Japanese automaker will introduce an all-new generation for the 2025 model year.

As such, Ford could at least mimic Jeep and provide a sensible update for the Bronco for the 2025 model year. But if that doesn't happen in the real world, no worries, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has already taken care of that – albeit only virtually. The good folks from the AutomagzPro channel on YouTube have some AI-assisted CGI thoughts about the facelift, and they combine them with the often-rumored Ford Bronco Hybrid SUV to make the unofficial reveal even more enticing.

Frankly, as far as the styling is concerned, it is anyone's guess if Ford will make any significant changes to the design when it comes the time to present the mid-cycle refresh – the channel's resident pixel master gives at least two different options for reworked LED headlamps and taillights. As for the hybrid powertrain, the electrified option has been rumored for a very long time now – we have seen reports dating as far back as 2020.

However, that doesn't mean the Bronco Hybrid won't happen – it could easily get the powertrain from the F-150 PowerBoost hybrid, especially since the automaker is trying to make it more accessible to a larger category of clients. Or, just as well, it could arrive as a glorious PHEV with the Ranger Plug-in Hybrid setup to combat the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.
