Tesla Model X Makes for a Pretty Good Beer Keg Delivery Truck

While we're still waiting for any bits of information on the promised electric pickup from Tesla, some people have taken matters into their own hands and converted the luxurious and expensive electric SUV of the company into a delivery truck.
Don't worry, this isn't the type of conversion that involved an angle grinder - it didn't require anything in particular, actually, other than the owner's willingness to use his Model X for purposes completely different to the ones it was created for.

We already know the X is great for shipping beer from a video that's almost a year old. That one featured 60 cases of Bud Light - or 1,920 cans - which, assuming they were 16 oz cans (473 ml), means the X was carrying over 908 liters of beer.

This new one uses much larger recipients - namely, full-size beer kegs taken straight off the brewery floor. With 8 of them holding 400 liters, the actual beer quantity is much less impressive, but that was to be expected considering the size and shape of the barrels opposed to the square boxes.

If we look back, it would seem like fitting stuff into a Tesla is a favorite pastime activity among their owners, with another one - this time a Model S driver - cramming 19 of his friends and relatives into the sedan. It resulted in plenty of involuntary sock sniffing, but also an unofficial record that we're sure a lot of people are anxious to break come the next Thanks Giving party.

The keg video, however, focuses on Dan Gordon and his local brewery (Gordon Biersch). Having a Model X, he says, enabled him to make keg deliveries in person, and no matter how versatile the vehicle is, even he recognizes that it's not what it was designed for and is not what his clients expect him to arrive in.

This is one of the better Tesla promotional videos, but that's probably down to the fact it involves beer. We're not sure what's the strongest effect it has on us - convince us to buy a Model X or have some beer? - but since one is $100,000 and the other 100,000 times less, we know which one we'll be doing tonight.
