Offered with a VAT free promotion until September 30th, the base sticker price of this quirky Japanese subcompact sits at £11,099 for the three-door and £11,599 for the five-door model.
For that kind of money, you get a front-wheel drive B-segment hatchback propelled by a normally-aspirated 1.2-liter Dual VVT engine producing 94 PS. Thanks to low emissions of just 116 grams of CO2 per kilometer, the annual VED will set you back a mere 30 quid. As for fuel economy, the manufacturer says that this model will return a frugal 56.5 mpg on the combined cycle.
Coupled to a snickety manual transmission, the U.K-only Suzuki Swift SZ-L is in insurance group 11E, making it a pretty enticing proposition for the younger enthusiastic driver in the market for his or her's first automobile.
