Since its launch way bad in 2005, the Swift Sport has helped boost Suzuki's image in Europe a great deal, probably more than most of its other cars. This hot hatchling has always combined pure driving thrills with an affordable price tag, but has been somewhat overshadowed by turbocharged rivals in recent years, particularly the 500 Abarth.
The Swift Sport has always been available only as a 5-door, partly because it makes the car cheaper to buy, but also because it looks cooler. However, starting today UK customers can also consider a five-door version with the same engine and transmission, but better gas mileage.
Put simply, the five-door model is sold for £14,249 in Britain today, just £500 extra compared to the 3-door. Although the press release doesn't specifically say anything about this, it seems that you do get standard power windows for the rear seats.
The Swift Sport five-door continues to be powered by a 1.6-liter VVT four-cylinder engine which produces 136 PS and gets 44.1mpg UK when paired with a manual gearbox.
