Rieju RS50LC Sport Is the Official MotoGP Ducati Scooter

The title sounds a bit wacky, doesn't it? Well, it may be so, but there is nothing closer to the truth: Ducati chose the Rieju RS50 LC as their official scooters for the MotoGP team, and here are some fresh pictures taken last weekend at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

How come, some might ask. Well, the story is quite simple: moving around the paddocks has to be fast, reliable and if possible, fun, too. The Ducati pilots wanted a swift 50cc scooter to help them around the racing area and Rieju was there to offer the Rieju RS50LC Sport.

A new-generation liquid-cooled Minarelli engine powers the Rieju RS50LC Sport machines, and they roll on 13"low-profile tubeless tires with alloy rims and wave rotors. Add in the on-board USB phone charger, front luggage hook (even though there is rather little shopping in the MotoGP paddocks), generous underseat storage, steering lock as standard and there you go, a nifty transportation solution in busy traffic.

You won't be able to get the Ducati Corse red versions unless you become a MotoGP rider, so you'll have to settle for the black, white or blue/white models. The non-MotoGP Rieju RS50LC Sport retails for €2,370 ($3,11o.)
