While Chrysler celebrates its best August sales since 2007 after delivering 165,552 vehicles last month in the United States, Subaru has announced that August 2013 was its best sales month since... well... since forever.
The Japanese automaker sold more than 41,061 vehicles last month, which means a 45 percent increase compared to August 2012, raising the company’s yearly total to about 281,652 units, 29 percent more over the same period last year.
The brand’s best-selling model was the Forester crossover, with more than 13,000 examples delivered, while the Subaru Impreza and the Subaru BRZ also set sales records last month.
In related news, the fastest-growing non-luxury brand in the US recently announced it has built the four millionth vehicle at its Lafayette, Indiana facility, which operates since 1989.
