Chrysler Group LLC has sold 165,552 vehicles in the United States last month, reporting a 12 percent increased compared to August 2012 and the best August sales since 2007.
The Ram Truck brand posted the best year-over-year increase last month, delivering 29 percent more vehicles. Dodge was second with a 12 percent increase, followed by Jeep - 8 percent, Chrysler - 2 percent, and Fiat - 1 percent.
In addition, Chrysler Group models set sales records in August 2013 - Dodge Journey, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Dart, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot - each recording their best ever sales for the month of August.
In year-over-year gains, the Dodge Durango leads the pack with an increase of 117 percent, followed by the Jeep Patriot (42 percent), Jeep Compass (40 percent), Jeep Grand Cherokee (40 percent), Dodge Charger (37 percent), and the Dodge Challenger (33 percent).
“Last month we achieved our strongest retail sales in the past 60 months,” said Reid Bigland, head of US sales at Chrysler. “All aspects of our business continue to improve as evidenced by our streak of 41-consecutive months of year-over-year sales gains.”
