Stock-Looking Evo with 700 AWHP Is One JDM Sleeper

Evos have always been known as fast cars, but everybody knows that, in a straight line, they’re not actually all that quick - that massive rear wing isn’t exactly helpful in this kind of situations. There are obviously aftermarket world exceptions and we are here to talk about a rather sweet one.
The Lancer Evolution 9 in the clip below, to be more precise. As you can see, this Evo looks pretty much in stock condition, with the exception of the wheels and drag radials. Still, this could be one owner trying to get the best traction for his new ECU remap. Not quite the case though...

In fact, this Evo has a little more than that, as it’s been pushed to 700 horses. At the wheels. As you can imagine, a stock-looking Evo with 700 AWHP can produce some rather entertaining results. Its "5leeper" plate should say a thing or two about that.

For one thing, the creature can do a pretty good impersonation of a rallying Evo doing a standing start on tarmac. Yes, this creature has no problem in spinning all four wheels during take-offs performed on rubber.

We’d love to see this battling an unsuspecting supercar owner, for instance - the video shows us the car doing a couple of quarter mile runs, with the best offering a 10.3s time. That’s enough to leave defeat names such as McLaren 650S or Lamborghini Aventador. The Evo would only beat them by a little, but it would still be amusing to watch. Oh and let’s not forget about its abusive soundtrack.
