Without a doubt, the Golf 7 R is one of the most exciting cars in Germany right now. Sure, it might not be quite as dynamic as a BMW, but the VW badge and the legendary R nameplate compensate.
But, if you're going to buy a brand new Golf R, there's a lot to consider. Firstly, only the hardcore fans will notice you've just spent €40,009 on the car, the rest will see it as just another 5-door family car. Secondly, the R is quite popular, so there's going to be a lot of them that look like yours, no matter what color you go for.
One quick fix seems to come from the wrapping world, as this next project will show. German company SchwabenFolia has just revealed a Golf R wrapped in a caller called "Sparkling Berry".
As strange as it looks and sounds, the color is quite popular with Volkswagen tuning circles. We've already seen two more cars done in "Sparking Berry", a Golf R Cabrio and a Polo GTI. There's nothing particularly different about the R project, although the silver mirrors and black accents do stand out.
In case you forgot why VAG communities are building shrines to the Golf R, we'll remind you that the car packs a 300 horsepower engine, the same one as in the Audi S3. Together with the optional 6-speed DSG gearbox and the standard all-wheel drive system, it accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, the fastest any Volkswagen production model has ever gone.
