As tiny homes become more and more popular and spread across the continents, they are also getting bigger. And that's probably because customers are increasingly looking for larger models to fit the entire family and all the creature comforts of a traditional brick-and-mortar home. However, there are still builders that stay true to the original roots of the tiny living movement and offer ultra-compact houses that can help inhabitants reduce consumerism and debt and adopt a simpler way of life.
One of them is Far Out Tiny Homes, a Henderson, Nevada-based tiny house company that, like many others out there, was started by individuals who first built a tiny house for themselves and experienced tiny living firsthand and eventually decided to put their knowledge to good use by crafting compact dwellings for others.

Far Out Tiny Homes offers a wide range of prefabricated tiny house sizes and styles, but today, we will focus on a model that sticks to the initial principles of tiny living, which prioritize downsized living spaces and a simplified lifestyle with fewer material possessions and an increased focus on experiences and intentional living.

The Stardust tiny home measures 20 feet (6 meters) long and 8.5 feet (2.6 meters) wide and is designed to be compact, efficient, and functional. It is minimalistic in terms of amenities but cute as a button and stylish.

Moreover, due to its small size, it is perfectly compatible with being on the road. It is easily towable and offers increased freedom of movement, which is a highly appreciated perk among younger, travel-loving tiny homeowners.

Usually, the smaller the house, the more attention the designers can give to each area and each little detail. And this is particularly true for the Stardust model, which is available for $78,400.

Built on a double-axle trailer, this tiny home boasts an elegant mid-century modern-inspired exterior design defined by an angular shape and a shallow pitched roof.

Designed for durability and safety, the home is clad in engineered wood and cement board siding, with black trim around the windows. This combination is meant to maximize resistance and durability. As for the interior, the designers used quality MDF shiplap throughout (except the bathroom), coupled with waterproof luxury flooring.

The compact interior is modern, with a neutral black and white minimal design throughout. The simple layout comprises an open-space lounge and kitchen area, a separate bathroom, and a loft bedroom, which makes it perfect for a single individual or a couple.

Once you step inside, you'll be surprised by how roomy this home feels despite its small size. It achieves this commodious feel thanks largely to the white walls, tall ceilings, the abundance of windows, and recessed LED lighting.

As in most classic tiny homes on wheels with such a minimalist design, it's hard to talk about compartmentalization. There is no separation between the living room and the kitchen, so the main floor can be used as a multifunctional space.

The living room space is furnished with a sofa for two facing a butcher block desk and a TV mounted on the wall. This creates a nice environment for both work and relaxation, depending on the time of day. And the best part is that it's flanked by large windows that bring in a lot of natural light.

Moreover, since this home is too compact to include a dedicated dining table, said desk installed into the wall can also double as a dining spot when the inhabitants are not working from home, adding more functionality to the space.

The adjacent kitchen is incredibly beautiful, with black and white cabinets that give it a premium look, decent counter space for meal prep, and a few appliances to ensure functionality. There is a stainless steel sink, an under-counter fridge, a built-in induction cooktop, and a microwave.

The main floor also includes a luxurious-looking bathroom that has the same black and white color palette and masters the small space high function balance. It has enough room to fit a tile walk-in shower with a glass door, a floating vanity or just a floating sink, a large mirror, and a flush toilet.

For storage, the designers integrated recessed shelves that can hold towels and toiletries and add architectural character to the space.

The loft bedroom lies above the bathroom and can be accessed via a staircase. It is spacious enough to fit a queen-size bed and some floating shelves for storing clothes or decor items. A side window keeps it bright and airy, while a wooden railing adds safety and elegance.

When it comes to tiny houses as compact as the Stardust, minimalism isn't as much a choice as it's a necessity, but this does not mean the design can't be aesthetically pleasing. This tiny house on wheels shows that minimal living is not necessarily about compromises but rather about making the most of the available footprint to achieve the maximum level of comfort.
