Someone Has Created a Mobile App to Let You Order Fuel at Home

These days we do pretty much everything from the comfort of our own homes, and this is actually the right way to go during these crazy times, at least according to experts across the world.
And since we should avoid physical interaction for as much as possible, someone has come up with a new idea that could be useful to motorists out there: a mobile application allowing drivers to refuel their cars without even leaving the house.

Called simply Refuel and currently available only in South Africa in Johannesburg and Pretoria, the application relies on a custom-designed truck using two different fuel tanks, each with a volume of 1,000 liters (264 gallons). The truck can carry both diesel and petrol.

The process of ordering a refill is just as easy as shopping online, as you only need to specify how much gas you want (either in liters or cost), provide your details, address, credit card information for payment, and the vehicle’s registration number. That’s pretty much it.

You just need to let the fuel cap open, and you’ll then get a notification in the app when the vehicle has been refueled. Overall, the process seems as straightforward as it gets.

As for prices, the parent company guarantees the gas costs as much as at a station, only that you need to pay a small fee for the delivery. In South Africa, this extra fee is R20, which at today’s exchange rates means $1.36.

Needless to say, this is a super convenient way to refill your car without even leaving your house, and the company claims it’s already planning to expand the service to more locations. Furthermore, as per a recent report, the dev team is already working on extra functionality for the app. The company could add more services, including quick tire pressure and oil checks performed right in front of your home.
