A new mobile application for iPhone and Android allows users to easily find a pickup truck that could help carry large stuff, such as furniture or appliances, from one location to another in the most straightforward way.
Called Truck It, this app works pretty much like Uber, only that its purpose is entirely different.
“As the founders we have found ourselves in situations where there is an item we'd like to purchase from a store, a garages sale, online resellers like offerup, let-go and had no way to get the item without the expense and hassle of renting a truck, which we have done. With that the creation of Truck It began,” the developing company explains.
So theoretically, if you have a large item that you need to carry from one place to another, just launch the app, look for someone available close to you, order a truck, and there you go.
Extra features are also available, and you can actually use a bid serve to get the best price for your order. As with Uber, drivers receive ratings, so the service's quality is supposed to be top notch.
The parent company says the purpose of the app is to give everyone a chance to make some extra money with their truck while also making the whole thing as safe as possible. So not only most drivers are veterans, but everyone is going through a series of checks.
“A majority of the owners are Military or Veterans. Our vision is to give Veterans an opportunity to work for themselves and not have to worry about employment elsewhere. This will also be a great opportunity for college students, retired individuals or just someone who wants to earn extra money in their spare time,” the dev team explains.
