The American custom car scene is a very diverse one. For decades, more or less nondescript garages have been at the center of a massive flood of extraordinary machines coming our way, so many that it is nearly impossible for anyone to encompass them all.
Most of these builds quickly sink into oblivion for a variety of reasons, especially the ones that don’t get a chance to be part of some major show. Those that do, however, remain with us years after they were originally made, regardless of whether they are the recipients of some award or not.

Here is a 1968 Chevrolet C10 that has all it needs to be remembered for ages to come: incredible looks, unforgiving power, and the recognition of the industry.

The truck, as you see it here, is the work of a builder by the name of Scott Purkerson from Oregon. He showed it at SEMA and other specialized events in the mid-2000s, but the build also gained recognition from what is considered the world’s largest hot rod organization, Goodguys.

The truck, heavily modified from its stock form, rides on a 1968 Jeep suspension at the front and leaf springs at the rear. They end in 18- and 20-inch wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson tires, which in turn support a blue-painted body with no door handles, a custom hood up front, and a steel bed at the rear. Inside, a 1965 Chevrolet Suburban bench shares some of the blue paint sprayed over the exterior metal.

Under the hood of the truck sits a 350ci (5.7-liter) engine working with a Turbo 350 transmission and a 9-inch Ford rear end. The powerplant’s output was rated at 425 hp, and there are just 120 miles (193 km) shown on this machine’s odometer.

The truck is presently for sale as a one of a kind build, going on Restomods for $59,000.
