SEAT Begins New Adventure With Shakira

VW’s Group’s latin brand, Seat, will release a new “episode” of its marketing campaign which uses Shakira’s image.

A publicity spot for the automaker has been created using digital animation. It was shot last December in Madrid, with the all-important post-production stage being completed in London. The advert will bring Seat and Shakira to home viewers’ attention starting from March, when it will be introduced on television.

The spot brings the audience to “SEAT and Shakira’s Wonderland”, a place where the sun is replaced by SEAT cars' headlights, and a series of wonderful events takes place. The Ibiza , Shakira and the Leon Good Stuff Edition are the main characters of the fantastic world.

If you are wondering why Seat if offering a “Good Stuff Edition” for the Leon, here’s the reason: The soundtrack of the advert will be Sahkira’s Good Stuff song, featured on her latest album She Wolf. Shakira’s 2010 European Tour will be sponsored by SEAT.

The creative idea was developed by SEAT’s Marketing department in collaboration with Atletico International advertising agency. The two also implemented the spot, including the shooting, which took 2 days. Consequently, the post-production process was carried out by the London-based production company Superfad, who spent over two months to complete it. According to the shooting team, Shakira “was very enthusiastic about knowing every detail of the production process, and took a very active part in it".

SEAT and Shakira’s collaboration started in 2007, when the carmaker sponsored the artist’s European “Oral Fixation” tour. Among other results, the action managed to raise over 100,000 euro for Shakira’s Pies Descalzos charity foundation.
