If you haven't heard, Kia is working on a mid-cycle refresh of the fourth-gen Carnival, which is currently three years old. The people carrier will feature new front and rear ends and likely additional updates. And we already know what it will look like.
Do you remember the leaks we laid our eyes on last week? Well, those were used by the peeps at Kolesa to come up with some very realistic renderings. And after comparing the apples and oranges, we can state that the 2025 Kia Carnival will look just like the one imagined above.

Don't know where the inspiration for that new front end came from? That would be the facelifted Sorento. In fact, the whole front end of the revised Kia Carnival is almost the same as that of its crossover sibling. And it is not exaggerated to call it a sibling to the Sorento, as both share the same nuts and bolts, aka the N3 platform, which underpins a variety of other models.

Now, back to the design, we can see that the people carrier features an intricate DRL signature with a Y styling that stretches from below the hood to the side section of the bumper. The grille is a bit taller, the side vents were dropped, and the lower air intake is slightly larger. Save for the new wheels, which are identical to those on the leaked car, the profile remains the same. Out back, it has a new taillight signature, a fresh tailgate, and a different bumper and diffuser combo.

The cockpit of the 2025 Carnival hasn't opened up to the camera yet, though we expect it to get an improved infotainment system and likely updated connectivity. The interior of the current one is anything but old, so there is no need to give it any styling tweaks. If anything, the Korean automaker will probably draw the line at the refreshed trim and upholstery.

Power will likely be supplied by the same engine, a 3.5-liter V6 making 290 hp (294 ps/216 kW) and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque. This is the sole lump available on the entire 2024 Carnival lineup, which starts at $33,200 before destination with the LX and tops out at over $46,300 when it comes to the SX Prestige. The lineup also includes the LX Seat Package, the EX, and the SX, which have respective MSRPs of $35,200, $38,700, and $41,900.

It has been reported that Kia might give the facelifted Carnival a plug-in hybrid powertrain, namely the 261 horsepower (265 ps/195 kW) assembly of the Sorento. However, since there is no official confirmation yet, you should treat this alleged information as a rumor and take it with the proverbial pinch of salt. More on the people carrier will be released in a few months during the presentation.

So, what's your take on the 2025 model? Is it a yay or a nay?
