French carmaker Renault is continuing its support of the North African market with plans to increase production of the Symbol sedan. They announced work has begun on the Oued-Tlelat plant, south-west of Oran.
The expansion in Algeria will be ready to make more examples of the new Symbol sedan, a direct derivative of the Dacia Logan, starting in November 2014. Output will go directly to the local market, the second biggest on the African continent with more than 300,000 vehicles sold since the start of 2013.
