French manufacturer Renault announced today pricing for their latest sports version of the Megane, the RS 250. UK residents will be able to purchase one starting November, in two versions: Sport and Cup. The Cup is priced from £21,995, while the Sport will be 1,000 pounds more expensive.
The car is equipped with an enhanced 2.0l turbocharged engine, which develops 250 hp (this is the reason why it is called RS 250) and 340 Nm of torque from 3,000 rpm. According to Renault, 80 per cent of maximum torque is available from 1,900 rpm. The engine makes pair with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The Cup version of the RS features dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, Renault Hands Free card, tire pressure monitor and Multi-functional TunePoint. Renault also offers a Cup package, priced at £1,950.
Visually, the RS 250 boasts LED daytime running lights, F1-inspired front bumper blade, side sills, wider wheel arches, a rear diffuser and an extended tailgate spoiler.
On the interior, the highlights are height-adjustable front seats with additional lateral support or optional Recaro seats, Renaultsport steering wheel with thumb rests and aluminum pedals.
For the UK, the RS 250 will be offered in a choice of seven colors: Glacier White, Capsicum Red, Extreme Blue, Pearl Black, Mercury, Oyster and Sport Yellow. As standard, the front bumper, door mirrors and rear diffuser come in gloss black.
