Renault Megane RS 250 Heads to the UK

After it has been first unveiled in Frankfurt, the 2010 Renault Megane RS (Renaultsport) 250 is packing its bags and heads for the UK, where it will go on sale in November. Just like we said in a previous report, the RS 250 is offered with two chassis settings: a standard Sport version and a Cup version that comes with a limited slip differential.

As for the technical specs, the car is powered by a specially-tweaked 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that develops 250 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque from 3,000 rpm. The engine is connected to a six-speed manual gearbox, optimized for high performance.

Additional features have also been installed and are set to thrill the British customers, including the Renaultsport Monitor which, through a central dashboard display, shows information such as lateral acceleration, 0 - 60mph acceleration, lap times and real-time engine performance.

Moreover, the Renaultsport Dynamic Management controls the intensity of the Electronic Skid Control (ESC) and even switched off if desired. Styling enhancements include LED daytime running lights, an F1-inspired front bumper blade, side sills, wider wheel arches, a rear diffuser and an extended tailgate spoiler.

As for the inside features, the new Megane Renaultsport 250 comes with height-adjustable front seats with additional lateral support or optional Recaro seats, height- and reach-adjustable Renaultsport steering wheel incorporating thumb rests, aluminum pedal covers, as well as new fascia design incorporating analogue instruments.

The manufacturer did not release any information on the pricing yet, but further details are expected to be announced closer to the UK market launch.
