French manufacturer Renault unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show the new Megane RS 250 which, will go on sale across Europe later this year. Since were talking about an RS model (which stands for Renaultsport), you should expect a large amount of power, combined with sporty and advanced features. Just like the model it is based on, the RS is manufactured at the Palencia plant in Spain.

Specifically, the car is powered by a specially-tweaked 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that develops 250 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque from 3,000 rpm. The engine is connected to a six-speed manual gearbox, optimized for high performance.

"Thanks to its twin-scroll turbo, the Renaultsport 2.0-litre turbocharged engine is exceptionally responsive and particularly flexible at low revs, with 80 per cent of maximum torque available from 1,900rpm. Its broad useful rev-band makes it a genuine joy to drive in everyday use,"
Renault explained in a release.

The car will be offered from the launch with two chassis settings: a standard Sport version and a Cup flavor that comes with a limited slip differential.

Other features include height-adjustable front seats with additional lateral support or optional Recaro seats, height- and reach-adjustable Renaultsport steering wheel incorporating thumb rests, aluminum pedal covers and new fascia design incorporating analogue instruments.

It will be offered with dual-zone climate control, a hands-free card with automatic door locking as the card-holder walks away from the vehicle, the high-end 3D Sound by Arkamys and a choice of two navigation systems - Carminat Bluetooth DVD and Carminat TomTom.
