After it made its world debut at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show, the all-new Renault Master takes the spotlight again thanks to the release of official pricing and specifications for the U.K. market. Excluding VAT and OTR chargers, the basic panel van starts at £21,120, while the Crew Van commands at least £27,000.
Already available for order in more than 120 versions, first deliveries are expected in September. The 2015 Renault Master large van range represents a significant update over the outgoing model and boasts contemporary looks, a handful of new standard and optional features, as well as a couple of punchy yet frugal powerplants. The party piece is an all-new 2.3-liter dCi 165 twin-turbo diesel, that offers 165 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque all while returning up to 40.9 mpg combined and CO2 emissions of just 180 grams per kilometer.
From the entry-level dCi 110 to the 135 and 165 twin-turbo diesel mills, all engines offer an attractive blend of price, pace and fuel economy. However, you can save even more at the pump by simply pressing a button that reads ECOmode, which adjusts engine torque and the climate control settings. Needless to say, all five engines can be mated to either a six-speed manual or Quickshift6 automatic transmission. Available in a choice of ten body colors including three metallic finishes, the 2015 Renault Master comes in short, medium and long wheelbase Panel Van guise, as well as medium wheelbase Crew Van.
A wide range of medium and long wheelbase conversions is also offered, which includes Chassis Cabs, Tippers, Dropsides (in single and double cab flavor), Platform Cabs, Box Vans and Luton Loaders. Customers can kit the new Master in two trim levels - Business or Business+, while the most cavernous panel van can swallow up 17 cubic meters. If you need a little more storage space, than the high roof box van is best suited with its 22 cubic meters of space. New core equipment includes DAB radio with CD player, ESC with Grip Xtend, Trailer Swing Assist and Hill Start Assist. A wide array of options are there for the ticking, including four Option Packs and a Wide View Mirror pack for who that need extra rear visibility.
Air suspension is pretty costly at £2,000, but you might be interested in auto lights and wipers plus front fog lamps for £250, cruise control for £250, as well as the integrated Carminat TomTom satellite navigation system that features Bluetooth connectivity for your mobile phone, an USB port for your MP3s and steering wheel controls for just £650.
