Renault Master is enjoying an impressive success since it was officially rolled out earlier this year and the first sign that demonstrate its appeal is the recent milestone reached by the Societe des Vehicules Automobiles de Batilly (SoVAB). The facility on December 16 rolled out the 50,000th van in the new Master family, which allows the French manufacturer to hope for greater sales in the months to come.
The van was rolled out in April 2010 and is being produced near Metz, in eastern France. Renault says the Master has contributed significantly to its number one position in Europe in the large van segment, as it held a 15.8 percent market share last month, up 1.6 points as compared to November 2009.
As a result of these impressive figures, Renault wants to boost production at the Batilly site by 40 percent, thus aiming to continue the success the van has registered in the last months.
"Sales results for New Renault Master are excellent. It has already taken more than 12,000 orders on the French market since its launch in April 2010. New Master is also attracting business users with a comfortable cabin that is worthy of a passenger car, a total cost of use down 40% compared with its predecessor and 350 versions to meet a full range of needs," Renault said in a press release.
The van is offered with multiple engine options, including a new 2.3-liter dCi unit that is fitted transversely in the case of front-wheel drive versions and longitudinally in rear-wheel drive versions.
