The Blue Oval Company recently announced the 2024 Ford Kuga with a comprehensive facelift, leaving out important technical details and prices. No worries, now the national online configurator tools have all the necessary updates.
Just like the American Ford Escape's fourth generation was updated not long ago, now it's time to enjoy the third iteration of the European sibling with the same comprehensive upgrades. On the outside, the new Ford Kuga will be easy to recognize thanks to the new full-width front LED light bar and the addition of the rugged Active series.

On the inside, the American company boasts a new 13.2-inch landscape touchscreen display with the latest generation of the SYNC 4 infotainment setup, more tech features like 5G connectivity, and additional driving assistance systems. More importantly, there are also changes under the hood – but the automaker didn't outline them in the press release. Instead, we only heard the hybrids were better and more powerful.

Well, a little digging on the national online configurator tools in Germany and the UK, two of the carmaker's most important markets on the Old Continent, and we have the puzzle complete. For starters, unlike in America, where the Active trim is also the base option starting from $29,495, in Germany or the UK, this is the flagship grade or an intermediate step.

More precisely, in Germany, pricing kicks off at €39,950 with Titanium, followed by ST-Line and ST-Line X at €41,650 or €45,650, respectively, and the Active plus Active X at €45,550 and €49,550, respectively. Over in the United Kingdom, the series has Titanium, ST-Line, Active, and ST-Line X options between £32,080 and £39,670. That's substantially more than in America, by the way – and the base prices have also gone up quite seriously compared to the outgoing Kuga – it's €36,250 in Germany. Curiously, in the UK, it's the other way around, as the old model starts from £33,380.

Additionally, we now know that the company has dropped the diesel options and only boasts gasoline, hybrid, and PHEV setups, just like in America. The base unit is the 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 150 ps (148 hp), followed by the 2.5-liter Duratec full hybrid with 180 ps (178 hp) and a choice of FWD or all-wheel drive, as well as the PHEV variant now boasting 243 ps (240 hp) along with the same 2.5-liter Duratec and CVT gearbox as the HEV model.

Interestingly, the hero Bursting Green color is free of charge, whereas even a Frozen White is €350 – meanwhile, the Desert Island Blue is no less than €1,000! Meanwhile, there aren't too many options – the most important are the 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels, the electric panoramic sunroof, the Winter Pack, or the Technology Pack, which adds the LED matrix adaptive headlights.
