Announced at Geneva more than a month ago, the hybrid version of the 2014 Range Rover Sport will be introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, scheduled in September.
Although details are still scarce, Frith said that the target CO2 emissions for the hybrid variant with a diesel V6 is about 169g/km. In addition, he mentioned that the car’s seven-seat capacity and luggage space won’t be affected by the hybrid hardware which will be mounted under the floor.

Asked if the 2014 Range Rover Sport hybrid will feature a motor fitted between the diesel engine and the ZF eight-speed transmission, Frith said “it’s very safe to assume that”.

As we already told you, the Range Rover Sport will gain two more conventional diesel-powered version in the United States, the 3.0-liter TDV6, rated at 258 HP, and the 4.4-liter SDV8, which is good for 339 HP. However, the hybrid won't be available over the Pond until Land Rover develops a gasoline/electric motor combo.
