We don’t really know what to make of the innovative yet a bit to futuristic concepts that made there presence felt in Frankfurt last week. The Audi model was a bit too out there, with its carbon fiber wheels and roadster configuration, but Opel/Vauxhall’s RAK e actually looked good on paper.
Autocar reports that Vauxhall-Opel boss Nick Reilly has called the two-seater a “very serious concept”. GM’s European division is considering whether to start making plans to put it into production and market it for about £9000, which is just over €10,300 or about $14,100 at the current exchange rates.
The concept was actually put together “with production in mind”. “We want to show it to a few governments and see if they're serious about EVs,” he says.
We like the little RAK e, but it could also be sold as a sort of hybrid with big scooter engines instead of expensive EV components.
