BMW i3 to Be Priced at under EUR40,000

BMW has currently made an important step on the eco pathway, introducing the i3 and i8, which will be displayed at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show. Since we are talking about two cars that follow the tree-hugging philosophy, the public’s interest is high, so any new detail is important. Well then, how about we talk a little bit about the pricing of the i3?
It seems that the i3 urban vehicle, which uses electric propulsion will come with a price lower than that of a BMW 5 Series. The info comes from BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer, who assured the German newspaper Handelsblatt (we must thank autobild for the scoop), that the upcoming car will be more affordable than the company;s medium saloon.

To be more precise, the i3 will set you back less than EUR40,000, with the vehicle scheduled to be released on the European market in 2013.

This means that the i3 will be less expensive than Opel’s Ampera, which uses a plug-in hybrid setup, as the latter retails for around EUR43,000 in Germany.

Of course, as with all the latest eco cars, the i3 is an expensive product, especially if we consider that you have to pay the aforementioned amount of money for a car that you’ll only use inside the city. However, we have to keep in mind that for that money you get, among others, multiple carbon fiber components.

Fortunately, we’ll all be abelt to meet the i3 soon and see exactly what it can do for us.
