It may feel like the Huracan story ended, but that's not true. In fact, the V10-powered supercar is still in production, and Lamborghini will pull the plug on it in a few months to make room for its successor, which will be partially electrified, just like its larger sibling, the Revuelto.
However, that doesn't mean one can go to their local Lamborghini dealership and drive off with a brand-new copy, as the entire production allocation has been sold out. The same likely applies to the rumored swansong that should be on the horizon.

Thus, the only way you can get your hands on a Huracan is by turning to the second-hand market. Here, the offer varies from the original copies to the latest special editions. Pricing varies depending on how rare it is, how well it's been preserved, and how many miles it has under its belt, and if anything, you won't be able to land one for pennies on the dollar.

Every Huracan out there costs a cool six-digit sum, assuming, of course, it is drivable. That doesn't apply to the pictured example, as fire got the best of it. The flames left it almost unrecognizable, devouring most of the exterior and cockpit. Only a few body panels survive, alongside some mechanical components, and the wheels appear to be salvageable, too.

We don't know how badly the motor was affected, and if you forgot, it is a 5.2-liter V10. The naturally aspirated unit was good for 580 metric horses, translating to brake horsepower and kilowatts, and it had 398 pound-foot (540 Nm) of torque on tap. Thus, you're looking at the LP 580-2, a pure rear-wheel drive supercar that was an ode to its predecessor, the Gallardo LP 550-2.

Lamborghini premiered this model at the Los Angeles Auto Show back in 2015, stating that besides the rear-wheel drive layout, it had a tuned chassis, too, with improved torsional stiffness compared to the aforementioned Gallardo. The Huracan LP 580-2 had a dry weight of 3,062 pounds (1,389 kg), a 40-60% weight distribution, and a new steering setup for improved cornering.

Thus, this was a supercar aimed at a rare breed of driving enthusiasts, as while there were far punchier and quicker exotics available then, the driving engagement placed it in a different league. It is always unfortunate when we come across ruined blue-blooded machines, especially those that cannot be brought back from the dead like the pictured example. On a more positive note, some components can still be rescued, and that's why azcycleparts bought it.

As for what led to the fire that destroyed it, your guess is as good as ours, and if you happen to know more about it, then by all means, drop a line below and share the information with us.
