The division in the Land Down Under is proposing great MSRPs for the 2024 Qashqai lineup starting at AUD33,890, but of course, you can also go up to almost AUD52k with e-Power if you want to.
The Japanese automaker introduced the Nissan Qashqai e-Power in Europe back in 2022 as something that isn't a regular plug-in hybrid or a fully electric vehicle. Instead, it is a range-extended EV. Now, it will finally arrive in Australia, too, with the online reservation system open early next month.

After the popular X-Trail e-Power and the successful introduction of the Nissan Z Nismo through an online reservation program that was over in mere hours, Nissan is now ready to bring to the Land Down Under its second e-Power model, with the first Australian-spec Qashqai e-Power models set to leave the factory later this year before deliveries kick off during the first quarter of 2024.

Of course, the company's e-Power tech will join forces with the series' highest trim level (Ti), aimed at offering "Australian car buyers an exciting powertrain choice in the small SUV segment." But before that, let us first talk about the 2024 Qashqai for Australia. The grade choice starts with the nicely-equipped Qashqai ST (it even has seven airbags, one between the front seats) powered by a 1.3-liter turbo with 110 kW (148 hp) from AUD33,890 (around $21,343 at the current exchange rate). However, remember that these are MSRPs, and on-the-road costs can be significantly higher.

Still, it's a great offer at a time when inflation hits everything and everywhere, so much more complicated than it used to be. Secondly, the ST+ grade with the same powertrain, including the Xtronic CVT transmission, kicks off at AUD37,890 ($23,873), followed by ST-L (AUD42,190 or $26,589) and the top trim Ti (AUD47,390 or almost $30k). If you want the Qashqai e-Power Ti, then it's AUD51,590 ($32,513), and it comes with variable compression ratio 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder mill as a power generator, along with an inverter and electric motor, all with a combined output of 140 kW (188 hp) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft).

The flagship Ti grade includes perks such as a panoramic glass roof with electrically-operated sunshade, leather accents on the seats, ambient lighting, a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display, a 12.3-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display instrument cluster to go along with the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ProPILOT with Lane Keep Assist, or a ten-speaker Bose audio system with subwoofer, and more. Meanwhile, the e-Power Ti also adds a few specific elements, like the e-Pedal, regenerative brake, ANC (active noise cancelation), an exterior vehicle sound to warn pedestrians, a "premium" front grille, and specific e-Power badging.

"Whether you're in the city, further afield, or travel frequently between both, the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER provides a smooth, exciting drive without ever having to stop to recharge," explained Nissan Australia Managing Director Adam Paterson.
