Kismet, one of the most spectacular megayachts in operation, is making waves in the ultra-luxurious superyacht market. It just got sold in record time for a record price. A billionaire's toy in every way, this fabulous Lurssen build continues to dazzle with unmatched opulence.
Kismet was supposed to be one of the largest superyachts participating in this year's Monaco Yacht Show. Yet, due to a swift turn of events, it will no longer make an appearance at the fancy event. Exceeding even its brokers' expectations, the giant pleasure craft found a new owner in just three months after being listed.

What's even more baffling is that it took so little time to sell a megayacht that was asking for a whopping €149 million ($158 million). This puts Kismet in line with the most expensive pre-loved superyachts sold in 2023. Although the year isn't over, it will be hard to surpass or even match this exceptional sale.

Things are less surprising if we consider the fact that Kismet's owner is a highly successful businessman with an obvious flair for investments. A billionaire and the richest man in Pakistan, Shahid Khan is one of the best-known Pakistani-American moguls. His deep dive into the world of sport brought him wide notoriety – he bought the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012 and the UK's Fulham football club one year later. But his massive empire extends way beyond that.

It was no secret that Lurssen, one of the top luxury shipyards worldwide, built the 312-foot (95 meters) Kismet for Khan almost a decade ago. Like all notorious serial yacht owners, the billionaire had first owned a smaller yacht of "just” 223 feet/68 meters from the same builder, christened with the same name. The second Kismet was an upgraded toy of epic proportions.

Two legendary names were behind Kismet's iconic look – Espen Oeino created the head-turning exterior, and Reymond Langton styled the vessel's vast interiors.

Everything about Kismet is unique and over the top, starting with the unique combination of a champagne-colored hull with a purely black mast. It's infamously known for the enormous helipad doubling as a basketball court at sea. It's part of the owner's private deck with its own jacuzzi and an apartment-like suite.

A jaw-dropping Crystal Caviar chandelier weighing a total of 350 kg adorns the yacht's grand atrium with a majestic staircase, in addition to an enormous video wall. An outdoor firepit, a large cinema, and a state-of-the-art spa are just a few of the extravagant treasures that Kismet's 16 guests can enjoy while a huge 27-person crew attends to their needs.

For now, Kismet's new owner is still unknown, but that can't last long. A masterpiece like this can't stay in the shadows. Khan could also be gearing up for a new fabulous floating toy. In the meantime, all eyes will be on Kismet and its new lucky owner.
