Renowned Italian shipbuilder Sanlorenzo Yachts has been crafting bespoke luxury yachts for over 60 years, and each new hull they reveal is a testament to their expertise and dedication to challenging conventional yacht design and engineering. The latest yacht they delivered to its owners is the very first hull in the yard's 57Steel series and has been christened My Alma.
This remarkable 56.5-meter (185-foot) motor yacht was unveiled for the first time in January this year when it was launched at the company's facility in La Spezia, Italy. The lucky owner of the vessel is a repeat client of West Nautical, which acted as project manager throughout the yacht's construction.

My Alma is the result of a successful collaboration between resounding names in the industry. While naval architecture was penned by Sanlorenzo, Zuccon International Project took care of the exterior design, and UK-based Vickers Studio is responsible for the yacht's bespoke interior.

It marks an important milestone for Sanlorenzo Yachts, as the newcomer is not only the first hull in the new 57 Steel series of metal superyachts but also one that pushes the boundaries of yacht design by redefining the traditional general arrangement. The wheelhouse on the My Alma yacht is not positioned forward on the upper deck as you'd expect but rather on the bridge deck, which is something characteristic of larger yachts.

Boasting a beautifully proportioned profile defined by strong and muscular lines, the new yacht incorporates several other features you normally find in much bigger vessels, such as a gym, a spa, a cinema, and more.

This is also the largest superyacht designed by Zuccon International Project to date, boasting a volume of 1050 GT and spanning five decks. The generous decks, luxury amenities, and harmonious combination of natural materials and glass in its construction ensure an unparalleled onboard experience.

The layout of My Alma has been customized to meet the needs and preferences of the experienced yacht owner, who played an integral role in shaping the design. For instance, one of the requests was to have a full-beam VIP suite forward on the main deck instead of the owner's master suite, which is situated on the upper deck. Both staterooms benefit from plenty of glazing to allow the owner and their guests to enjoy the surrounding views from their sleeping spaces. Four remaining guest cabins are located below decks. In total, My Alma is able to accommodate 12 guests and 11 crew.

A slew of amenities onboard My Alma ensures guests will have a memorable, relaxing experience. Some of them include a massage room and cinema on the main deck, a large gym and spa area on the lower deck, and a large dining area on the upper deck. Other noteworthy features include a glass-bottomed swimming pool on the aft deck that filters light into the expansive beach club with folding terraces.

In terms of performance, the motor yacht features twin Caterpillar engines that should offer a top speed of 18 knots (21 mph/33 mph), with a range of 4,000 nautical miles (7,408 km) at cruising speed.

Though Sanlorenzo's 57 Steel yachts are part of a new lineup, they have already proven a great success. Besides My Alma, a second hull baptized Virtuosity has been delivered to its owner, and the shipbuilder has already sold three more units that are currently under construction.
