The VW Group used the Moscow Motor Show to confirm that the next generation of the Skoda Octavia will make its debut in November, with sales set to kick off at the beginning of next year.
This means that the next Octavia will miss the Paris Motor Show, but Skoda is probably betting on the fact tht this is a very important car in certain markets and thus will gather quite a lot of attention. The next Octavia will ride on the VW Group’s new MQB platform , which means that it will be lighter, despite the fact that it will grow in size.
Skoda wants to make it larger (it will measure about 4.8 meters in length) as it has recently released the Rapid sedan and the two musn’t cannibalize each other. In fact, the Octavia will be sent upmarket alltogether. witj Skoda makine a clear difference between entry-level and premium version so that it makes it appealing for a broader audience.
