With the 991.2 incarnation of the Porshe 911 preparing to exit the stage, we're glad to bring you the freshest spy video showcasing the 2019 911, which has recently been spotted testing on the Autobahn.
The newcomer, which may or may not use the 992 generation label, once again showcased its uber-wide posterior in the media we have here - the photos (the first three pics in the gallery above) come from 918 Spyder and 911 R owner alexisbve, whose Instagram account is private.

The wider tracks are just one of the changes that will ensure the next-gen Neunelfer delivers the expected track performance boost. Since we can now label the 2018 GT2 RS as the Neunelfer that one-upped the 918 Spyder on the Nurburgring by a massive 10 seconds, it's obvious that the newcomer has to deliver an amazing Nordschleife number.

As for where the bar currently sits, the 991.2 Porsche 911 Carrera S can lap the Nurburgring in under 7:30 (the time comes from a car gifted with the optional rear-wheel steering and Porsche Exclusive Power Kit).

We're expecting the 2019 Neunelfer to be underpinned by an evolution of the current model's MMB platform. The architecture, which marked a serious upgrade compared to that of the 997 model, made its market debut in 2012 and we're expecting its next iteration to bring the position of the engine a few inches closer to the center of the car. Keep in mind that the German automaker is currently experimenting with the mid-engined 911 RSR, a racecar that has switched the position of its flat-six motor and its transmission.

Nevertheless, the 911 will maintain its 2+2 seating layout, which makes it special on the go-fast market. Speaking of the 2019 Neunelfer's cabin, we've previously managed to take a peek at the dashboard. Zooming in on the instrument cluster, you can expect the traditional five-cluster arrangement, but only the center-mounted tacho will remain analog, while the rest of the instruments will go digital.

Before we end this tale, we'll return to the 991 exit we mentioned in the intro and remind you that there's still one 911 derivative that hasn't received its 991.2 facelift, namely the GT3 RS.
