Camper van demand is at an all-time high. Nowadays, if you're interested in having someone design your own custom camper van, you have countless companies to choose from. One of them is Boulder Campervans.
Boulder Campervans is a specialized van conversion company based in Boulder, Colorado. I wrote about one of its projects, the Wilson Peak, a couple months ago and was impressed by its high-end spec.

The company recently released a brand-new custom conversion named Mt. Sneffels, which I'm eager to discuss with you today. It's based on a 2023 AWD Mercedes Sprinter 170 and stands out with its deluxe and adventure-ready features. Its maker describes it as "more than a camper van; it’s an off-grid oasis."

The vehicle sports a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine outputting 211 hp. It's paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. What's more, it measures 19.5 feet (5.94 meters) in length, 83 inches (211 centimeters) in width, and 116 inches (295 centimeters) in height.

There are many exterior accessories on this rig. As I mentioned, it's an AWD, but Boulder Campervans went the extra mile to ensure the rig can easily go off the beaten path. The company fitted an Agile off-road suspension kit, which also helps support the extra weight of the interior.

On the roof, you'll discover an Aluminess roof rack holding 360 W solar panels, a StarLink mount, pod lights, and a self-supporting Girard awning. What's more, at the rear, there's an Aluminess ladder/spare tire carrier. Other notable exterior touches are Aluminess side steps, a CR Lawrence window on the driver's side, and two Flarespace bump-outs complete with awning windows.

Slide the main door open, and you'll be greeted by a cleverly arranged interior. Since there isn't any kitchen counter blocking part of the entrance, the front part of the interior feels much more spacious. What makes the space feel even more open is the absence of a seating area dead ahead of the entrance – the customers of this van wanted to leave the spot empty so their dogs could sit there.

Boulder Campervans opted for an open layout, meaning the driver's cabin isn't separated from the living space. Regarding design, there's a lot of bamboo inside. The company used bamboo for the tabletops, cabinetry, and ceiling, complementing the aesthetic with walls upholstered in a striking sage green fabric.

This van is ready for four-season adventures, as it's insulated with double-stuffed 3M Thinsulate in the walls and ceiling. What's more, all the windows, including those in the cab, come with bug screens and insulated covers.

Just like in most camper vans, the driver's and passenger's seats can be swiveled to face the living space. There are also two table mounts behind the seats. Another notable feature in the driver's cabin is a spacious headliner shelf above.

Next, we have the kitchen, which is split into two parts. It features an induction stove, a deep sink with a cover, two decently sized countertops imitating white marble, a flip-up countertop extension, and a small fridge/freezer.

For storage, you can use the many cabinets (including the overhead ones) and drawers. But the largest spot is a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe with an overhead microwave above it. Furthermore, one of the drawers houses a Laveo dry flush toilet.

Integrated into a panel right beside the microwave is the camper van's control panel. It consists of electronic gauges for the water tanks, a button for the heat pads covering the tanks, a switch for the StarLink, a Rixen screen controlling the heating, and an EcoFlow display that controls everything electrical-related.

Since we're on the topic of utilities, let me tell you more about the power system in the Mt. Sneffels van. It's equipped with a 15 kW EcoFlow system consisting of an inverter and three batteries, as well as other electrical components.

The last part of the living space is the bedroom. It's positioned for you to sleep from side to side, since the bump-outs make the space wider. What's more, it boasts two reading lights and two overhead cabinets.

The bedroom is positioned higher up to leave room for the garage underneath. The sides of the garage are occupied by boxes housing the utility systems. I already told you about power. Regarding plumbing, the rig is equipped with a 20-gallon (76-liter) freshwater tank and a 15-gallon (57-liter) greywater tank.

Boulder Campervans kept the customer's safety in mind and installed a fire extinguisher, as well as smoke, LPG, and carbon dioxide detectors. Other notable garage features are a slide-out tray, 12 V, 120 V, and USB outlets, as well as L-Track rails and mounts.

All in all, Mt. Sneffels is a thoroughly crafted off-grid tiny home on wheels packed with numerous creature comforts. You can bet on it to go off-road and off-grid without needing to sacrifice comfort.

You're probably curious about how much it costs. Its maker didn't share an exact price for it. However, Boulder Campervans' rigs are priced anywhere between $50,000 and $75,000 (€46,858 and €70,286), while the highest is $175,000+ (€164,000+). I'm sure Mt. Sneffels is toward the end of this interval.
