Automakers nowadays seem to drift further and further away, in their marketing schemes, from their actual cars. Similarly to Fiat’s Argentinean Palio ad, they are using completely irrelevant things to convince us that their cars are the best at a certain thing.
MINI, has a new marketing campaign called “Creative Use of Space”. Having done a snowboarding event earlier this year, for the same campaign, now they have made a very interesting arrangement on the roof of a New York building in a rather interesting fashion, actually.
The main feature is an artificial grassy mound, with seating dimples embedded in it, and a performance stage on top. The grid which is visible all across the roof also runs over the grass mound, signifying the ‘melange’ of natural and the utterly man-made, artificial grid.
The set-up also features funky lighting via the use of a lighting tower. The floor is also animated, with an LED carpet. Anyway, as I said at the beginning of the article, completely irrelevant stuff!
