With the unveiling of the all-new GT around the corner, Mercedes-AMG has decided to make a quick buck off the event. Thus, they are inviting interested parties to their headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany, to see the new Porsche 911 Coupe rival before everyone else, and they're charging a fee for it.
Called the Mercedes-AMG GT Live Sneak Preview, the event will take place between July 10 and 13, and it appears that the first three days are already booked. To take part, you will have to pay 450 euros or $492 at today's exchange rates, and in return, you will enjoy an experience that includes driving AMGs and having meals.

According to the itinerary released by the Affalterbach-based company, the event includes a full-day visit to the headquarters comprising a unique presentation of the new GT, a glimpse of vehicle assembly, meals, snacks, and action behind the wheel of the C 63 S E Performance, SL 63, and EQE 53. The event is said to be available only to AMG Private Lounge members, and interested parties can register on the official website here.

In addition to announcing the Mercedes-AMG GT Live Sneak Preview, the auto firm has released a teaser of the all-new model, revealing its sleek styling from beneath a car wrap. We've seen tons of spy shots of the model that shares its platform with the latest SL roadster these past few months. It is likely that it will use the same engines as the open-top vehicle, with the 55 and 63 versions getting a pair of V8s. The GT 43 is expected to be the entry-level trim level of the series, packing a 2.0-liter four-pot.

The top-of-the-line grade is rumored with a jaw-dropping amount of power: 831 hp (843 ps/620 kW) and 1,033 lb-ft (1,400 Nm) of torque. That is assuming that it gets the same electrified powertrain as the GT 63 S E Performance in the same configuration. The super sedan has a top speed of 196 mph (316 kph) and takes less than three seconds to sprint to 62 mph (100 kph). Therefore, the smaller and lighter two-door model should be even faster. It should also feature self-charging and plug-in capabilities to rejuice the battery either on the go using the internal combustion unit or by plugging it in.

Since Mercedes-AMG has already announced when the all-new GT will be shown to those willing to pay for it, one might expect us to have an official unveiling date. But we don't, not yet, anyway. Still, given that the Live Sneak Preview of the car will take place in less than two weeks, we reckon the world premiere will be hosted shortly after, and the first units should arrive at dealers before the end of the year.
