Along with the introduction of the 2024 Mercedes-AMG E53 Sedan, the German car manufacturer unveiled the long-roof version of it, known as the E53 Estate.

The new versions came on the market in the spring of 2024, almost one year after the introduction of the sixth generation of the E-Class. Mercedes-AMG worked extensively on the new station wagon and on the sedan versions to make them not just faster but also more fuel efficient than their predecessors. As a result, both vehicles were fitted with a plug-in hybrid system that allowed them to go up to 100 km (62 miles) on a single charge. Furthermore, the new system allowed them to travel at speeds of up to 140 kph (87 mph).

At the front, the Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid Estate featured a different look than the regular E-Class from Mercedes-Benz. It featured a wide grille adorned by illuminated vertical slats. Its LED headlights were standard and were available with a DIGITAL LIGHT system. Another striking difference was for the front fenders, which were 11 mm (0.4-inch) wider than the regular E-Class S214. Furthermore, the lower bumper featured the classic A-shaped air intake that helped to cool the battery pack and other vehicle systems. Last but not least, Mercedes-AMG installed a set of side scoops with horizontal slats that channeled air to the front disc brakes.

Like its sedan sibling, the 2024 E53 AMG Hybrid Estate boasted a set of Turbo Hybrid badges under a pair of fake vents on the front wings. The car came fitted as standard with a set of 19-inch light-alloy wheels. Customers could also get the E53 with sets of wheels with a diameter of 20 or 21 inches. A set of AMG-specific details, such as the lowered side sills, adorned the car's profile. The Estate came with body-colored door mirrors but black B- and C-posts. Behind the rear doors, the automaker placed an additional set of windows next to the trunk area. Thanks to the slightly sloped down roof line and the raked forward tailgate, the station wagon looked more like a shooting brake, especially since the door handles were flush with the bodywork. At the back, the automaker extended the tailgate downwards, cutting the upper part of the bumper for easier loading and unloading.

Inside, the cabin of the Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid Estate boasted a high luxury level. At the front, the car manufacturer installed a display for the instrument panel in front of the driver, while a touchscreen placed atop the center stack controlled the MBUX infotainment system. The car came fitted as standard with manually adjustable sport seats, with an option for powered ones. In the back, there was enough room for three adults on the split-folding bench, although there was limited legroom for the one seated in the middle. With all the seats folded, the car could get up to 1,675 liters (59.1 cu-ft) of space.

Under the skin, the Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ Estate featured a turbocharged inline-six engine helped by an electric motor. The result was a 585 PS (577 hp) go-fast station wagon. The nine-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel drive system helped the car get a high level of performance. Depending on the options, its top speed could reach 280 kph (174 mph).
