Japanese automaker Mazda has officially unveiled the 2014 Mazda3, confirming the photos and the huge amount of details that have surfaced onto the Internet earlier today.
Sporting the company's new KODO design language, the Mazda3 is quite attractive as far as styling is concerned, a significant improvement we also noticed while testing the 2014 Mazda6. Engine wise, the new compact will arrive with a Skyactiv-G 1.5-liter petrol engine rated at 100 HP, while the 2.0-liter unit will deliver 120 HP and 165 HP respectivelly. The Mazda3 comes with a diesel as well, with the 2.2-liter powerplant pumping 150 HP.
More important, the compact now features a chassis that's 30 percent stiffer and 90 kg (200 lbs) lighter than the outgoing model. Two new exterior colors have been added to the order list - Titanium Flash Mica and Deep Crystal Blue Mica, which means the Mazda3 will become available with a choice of eight colors.
Pricing, availability and fuel efficiency figures have yet to be revealed, but make sure you stick around for an update. Until then, make sure you check out the attached press release for further info on the brand-new Mazda3.
