The Mazda MX-5 has a special place in car enthusiasts’ hearts, as the vehicle manages to offer a gate to the affordable performance world. The vehicle is now in its third generation, but the previous two incarnations still manage to capture our imagination. This is why we are happy to announce that Brodie Brittain Racing (BBR), an UK-based MX-5 tuner is introducing a complete upgrade kit for the first generation of the sporty topless car.
The vehicle has received a complete performance makeover, with the performance package bringing multiple tech goodies.
“BBR has responded to demand for an upgraded Mk1 MX-5 model, which combines outstanding engine performance and chassis dynamics. BBR’s brief was to produce a carefully enhanced high-powered Mk1 MX-5 that combines great handling, civilized road manners and awesome trackday capabilities in all weathers,” stated the press release.
The vehicle’s 1.6 liter engine has receive a turbochrger conversion and now allows the driver to play with 221 hp and a maximum torque of 175 lb-ft (237 Nm). In addition to that, the aftermarket developer has also played with the vehicle’s brakes, transmission and has installed new lightweight alloy rims.
