Ingenious design has proven that even the smallest living space can be configured in ways that make it highly functional and comfortable. Still, those who prefer the traditional comfort of generous spaces and conventional layouts have the option of larger homes on wheels. In this case, standard features of typical homes, such as a main-floor bedroom or bathroom with a bathtub, become the hallmark of luxury.
In terms of accommodation, Yaletown is nothing over the top. It's mainly designed for a couple or a family of four, at most. However, it stands out due to its high-end design and stylish details that take things from basic to luxurious. We rarely think of tiny homes that have a main floor bedroom and a large loft bedroom, a bathroom with a classic bathtub, or a private room with a fireplace. Yaletown manages to integrate all of these into an elegant design that stays within the limits of road-legal tiny homes.

At 32 feet (9.7 meters), with a height that's close to nine feet (2.7 meters), Yaletown is larger than your average tiny home. This results in a generous overall surface of 303 square feet (28 square meters) and, most importantly, a configuration with certain perks.

The kitchen area is typical for homes on wheels. On one side, you have all the basic appliances, including a full-size fridge and a dishwasher, neatly incorporated into the custom-made furniture. A separate breakfast bar sits next to the main countertop in front of a large window. It's larger than most, with three seats, and can easily double as a home office.

The other side of this area is mostly dedicated to storage. There's a separate nook for the washer/dryer unit, and the typical tiny house storage staircase provides ample room for larger items in addition to the classic cabinets and soft-close drawers.

The bathroom is one of Yaletown's pleasant surprises. It's not only perfectly equipped but large enough to include a full bathtub. The bathtub is optional, but it gives you an idea of how spacious this bathroom really is.

Normally, the open-space main floor would include a living room area with lots of windows so that it feels bigger and brighter. Yaletown switches things up, focusing on the idea of intimacy instead of openness. This part of the house is dedicated to a main floor bedroom with doors that separate it from the kitchen area for privacy.

It would be better described as a versatile space because, during the day, it can work great as a living room. There's enough space for a beautiful, L-shaped sofa, while the unexpected fireplace and recessed lights create a cozy atmosphere. At night, this becomes the perfect bedroom – no ladders to climb and no space restrictions. The fireplace even adds a touch of glam. Another advantage is the ample storage space – tiny homes rarely provide access to private storage inside a room.

The loft bedroom is placed above the kitchen and bathroom area and accessed via a storage staircase. Even this room is oversized, unfolding over 79 square feet (7.3 square meters). It can fit a king-sized mattress, flanked by large windows that keep the room bright and airy.

The team at Simply Living Stattonrock designed Yaletown with "modern penthouse vibes." It looks and feels like a luxury family house without sacrificing the benefits of tiny living. Apart from the elegant layout that creates a seamless flow, Yaletown is also a high-performance home.

This brand is known for delivering high-performance homes that are built to standards above British Columbia Building Code. The idea is to optimize energy efficiency in a sustainable way. A high-performance house comes with great advantages. The most obvious one is better comfort in all weather conditions due to the top-quality insulation and a building envelope that is more airtight. At the same time, while you get to live in full comfort, expenses would go down.

A house with low energy consumption is much more affordable in the long run. High construction standards also translate to greater durability. A tiny house like Yaletown is not only meant to last for generations but to ensure optimal resale value due to its high-quality build.

High-performance homes are healthier for the environment (due to fewer greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere) and also for those living inside. This Canadian builder uses a variable ventilation system based on demand flow paired with a ceramic regenerative heat exchanger. Also known as a heat or energy recovery ventilator, this system keeps the air fresh in the best conditions, which is particularly important for those with allergies.

Simply Living is different from other brands in the industry because it's the extension of a traditional home builder. Stattonrock Design + Build, the parent company, has been a trusted home builder in British Columbia for almost two decades. Stattonrock brought its expertise with net-zero certified, high-performance custom homes to the field of tiny living. Its tiny home portfolio ranges from smaller studios to luxury family homes like Yaletown.
