Barbie Jeep? Not exactly, as this 1990 Wrangler is a true off-roader, packing multiple modifications and a punchy V8 engine under the hood that allows it to roam free with some of the most powerful modern high-riders out there.
Part of the YJ generation assembled from 1986 to 1996, it took three years to make it look the way it does. It features a new top, comes with a red paint finish, sports fender flares, and an interior that needs some TLC. Then come the numerous off-roading modifications.

You see, this 1990 Jeep Wrangler features steel bumpers at both ends and rides on fresh Mickey Thompson tires. The suspension was not only rebuilt but also upgraded to ensure that it could conquer most things Mother Nature could throw at it. Other highlights include the new transfer case, Dana 44 front axle, and a serious LS motor.

That's right, the original engine, which we know nothing about other than the fact that it could have been either a straight-four or a straight-six, was swapped for a 6.0-liter V8 supercharged unit said to boast 600 horsepower.

Thus, it can likely give cars such as the Lamborghini Urus a run for their money, not to mention that it would also venture farther off the beaten path than any exotic crossover. Everything is sent to the four-wheel drive system through an automatic transmission, and the stopping power comes from the front disc brakes and rear drums.

There are many more goodies on the deck that you can learn about by accessing the Garage Kept Motors listing, as this old-timer Jeep Wrangler is for sale. The ad also comprises multiple images that put the spotlight on all kinds of things and reveals that it has 6,143 miles (9,886 km) on the odo. As a result, this vehicle can become your trusty companion for years to come, assuming you know your way around old cars and are not afraid of elbow grease.

It doesn't cost an arm and a leg either, as you will have to fork out $39,900 for it. To those keeping track, that's about as much as a new Jeep Wrangler in the base configuration, which starts at $35,495 for the two-door body style, excluding destination. This model features a 3.6-liter V6 making 285 horsepower and comes with a six-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel drive.

Only available in the four-door body style, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is the top grade of the modern-day series and starts at $92,140, though with only 470 horsepower produced by its 6.4-liter V8, it is inferior to the pictured YJ. Now that you know how it stacks up to the JL, which one would you rather take home? The LS-powered YJ or a brand-new copy of the latest generation?
