Ford has invited Bronco fans to discover new ways of exercising patience after recently announcing that first deliveries of the reinvented SUV will come later than initially previewed. Those who failed them and like to act on a moment’s notice have the choice to place a bid for this 1970 unit. They'd better do it fast, because the auction is hours away from closing.
Although the Bring a Trailer auction (with the highest bid currently at just $21k) is set to end in just a day at the time of writing, we couldn’t pass on the opportunity to showcase a thoroughly modified example as part of our Celebration Month feature.

What settled the deal for us? It wasn’t the low bid value, nor was the low mileage (almost 15k) exhibited since it was refurbished and modified. It’s actually the sunny yellow paint job. Seriously, just take a look at the shiny hue, its black soft top, and the equally black hood, and say it doesn’t belong in a sunflower field!

Because winter is upon the Northern Hemisphere, we’re quite actively searching for easy dream getaways to sweet summer days. And, of course, we already imagined taking this yellow Bronco to a picnic somewhere in the middle of the wilderness (or perhaps, just past that sunflower field).

Anyways, let’s get back to the vehicle because it’s not going to present itself. According to the description, the 1970 Bronco restarted its career back in 1999 when it was acquired by the current owner.

The Ford (check out the yellow lettering on the front grille and the engine bay details from the gallery) off-roader was then repainted in this “stand out in a crowd” yellow shade and fitted with a replacement 351-cubic inch (5.75-liter) Windsor V8 engine.

The latter was mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and to make sure the Bronco will be up for any adventures, the custom build also includes a dual-range transfer case, a Dana 44 front axle with an OX locker (which has its own yellow detailing), as well as a nine-inch rear axle.

The 1970 Bronco rides on 15-inch alloys wrapped in mud-terrain tires, and further modern amenities include the front disc brakes (drums at the rear), Rancho shocks, upgraded steering system, or the Wild Horses springs, among others.

Moving inside, one will find black vinyl front bucket seats and rear bench, while everyone inside is safe from any rock-crawling mishap thanks to a six-point roll cage. The interior is definitely on the black side of things, but we did notice some yellow touches here and there, such as behind the aftermarket steering wheel.
