If you're in the market for a motorhome, it can be overwhelming to figure out just where to start. In the hopes of helping you get some footing, I've decided to shed some light on the American Dream, a motorhome backed by over 30 years of experience.
Ladies and gents and seekers of the on-road living lifestyle, I'd like to invite you to kick back for a second and get to know a bit about one of America's hidden gems, the 2024 American Dream (AD) RV from none other than American Coach, the one and the same that's been active in this industry for over 30 years.

The questions are: what makes this crew so special, and why should we consider spending at least $791K (€728K at current exchange rates) on a new rolling home? Well, for starters, I invite you to check out the image gallery. As you do, pretend you're right there next to or in the AD. Run your fingers along its glossy exterior, feel and smell the leathers inside, hide all your goodies in the countless cabinets and wardrobes, and let's hit the road.

For starters, each AD's life begins like the other units to come out from under the American Coach umbrella, with a Freightliner Custom Chassis and steel beams that are molded into one piece. Throw in some aerospace-grade Huck bolts, a double wishbone independent suspension on the front, and V-ride suspensions on the rear, and we're looking at the perfect base for a mobile home.

It's then onto the of this bugger's shell, which is brought to life with vacuum-bonded aluminum framed sidewalls, roof, and floor, upon which a Vetrosina fiberglass skin is added, not only closing the shell off from any exterior elements but also protecting it from whatever your travels throw at it.

Now, like other modern motorcoaches built for this sort of use, the AD lineup is designed with slide-outs in place. This not only ensures plenty of space for owners but also means well-defined areas, plenty of features, and a lifestyle capacity that won't make you feel bad that you had to sell your landlocked home just to own.

As for what's in store, let's pretend we own one of these babies and are now sitting on your reserved plot of lot on the edge of one of California's vineyards. Vineyards not really your style? Pick your favorite spot; mine's by a hidden mountain lake with nothing but the sounds of birds in nearby trees and the occasional duck or goose splashing in the nearby waters.

Once you've parked your unit, whip out those slide-outs, nearly doubling your RV in size, and let's begin unloading all the campsite goodies you brought along. Since the AD not only has an insane amount of storage bays tattered along the lower half of its exterior but the capacity to tow an insane amount of load - up to 20,000 lbs (9,072 kg) - there's no telling what your campsite will look like. Before long, you've got e-bikes, kayaks, and even jetskis lying around; pick your favorite.

Speaking of favorites, for me, it isn't the allure of jetskis on the water or even e-bike adventures that really gets me going, but rather relaxing outdoors with my loved ones. It's as if American Coach knows this about their future customers because the AD lineup also includes an outdoor entertainment center. I just couldn't find anything about an outdoor kitchenette. Anyway, it's nothing a fire fit can't handle.

As for the interior of this behemoth, the best way to get a feel for what's inside is to place yourself in the middle of the action portrayed in the images. But it should help to know that we'll find our feet stepping upon heated porcelain tile flooring, relaxing on modular sofas and loveseats, and enjoying the sights of flames dancing in a fireplace.

Go ahead, whip up a three-course meal, enjoy it with the family at the dinette, and get busy living the good life. Oh, be sure to dive deeper on your own if you really want to get to know the American Dream; our time together is limited, unfortunately.

What I do feel I need to touch upon are essentials like up to 105 gallons (397 l) of fresh water and filtration system, water accumulation setup, eight AGM batteries, Onan generator, and all the electrical and water hookups you'd ever need. The downside is that there's just 100 W of solar panel power mounted to this one, so if you're looking for some off-grid use, you'll need to drop some extra cash at the problem. Then again, that generator should handle some of the work of recharging your batteries.

Sure, it's nice to know that you'll be sitting on porcelain toilets, accessing HVAC systems throughout, tuning the ambiance with heaters and AC units, and even using the washer/dryer combo at your disposal, but all this just goes to show that if you do end up selling your traditional home, you'll be able to find another in a forever-rolling 2024 American Dream.
