Lamborghini took the Revuelto supercar to the racetrack for some testing, as if they had not done this a billion times already. Pro driver Andrea Caldarelli was behind the wheel.
The Lamborghini Revuelto is the brand's first plug-in hybrid and the world's first V12-powered plug-in hybrid that the Italian marque is referring to as the HPEV, which stands for High Performance Electrified Vehicle.

Now, Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver Andrea Caldarelli took the Revuelto for a spin at the Piero Taruffi circuit in Vallelunga, not far from Rome. It happened right before the international dynamic debut of the model. The video shows the Revuelto being put through its paces. But the most amazing thing about it is the soundtrack of that V12.

Caldarelli knows his way around the Lambo. Driving Lamborghinis, he won the most prestigious titles in endurance races. His CV includes the triple crown of the GT World Challenge Europe in 2019 and the 24 Hours of Daytona in the GTD category. He has also joined the crew that will run in the 2024 season of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, driving a Lamborghini SC63. He tags the Revuelto as a "truly extraordinary supercar."

The Revuelto arrived in the brand’s 60th anniversary year, on March 29, as the successor of the Aventador, sporting a new carbon chassis concept. The model has already entered production, with the deliveries expected to start in the last quarter of 2023.

Lamborghini stays away from downsizing. The powertrain integrates the new mind-mounted naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, which works alongside three electric motors. The V12 generates 814 horsepower (825 PS) and 535 lb-ft (725 Nm) of torque.

Meanwhile, the electric motors, with two mounted at the front, engaging each of the wheels, bring along 187 horsepower (190 PS) and 60 lb-ft (82 Nm), in an all-wheel drive setup. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission manages everything the engine and motors deliver. The same transmission will find room in the successor of the Huracan.

The Lamborghini Revuelto can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph (0-62 mph) in 2.5 seconds, hits 200 kph (124 mph) in less than 7.0 seconds, while top speed is capped at 350 kph (217 mph).

A small 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery with pouch cells provides it with an electric range of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers). It may not sound like much, but keep in mind that this is supercar level that we are dealing with here.

In the United States, the Revuelto starts at $604,000, but checking the most expensive option boxes can easily make it a $700,000 car. Despite the insane price, the plug-in hybrid is already sold out for the upcoming two years. Lamborghini is rolling out the coupe version, but most likely, a coupe is on its way to the market.
